FAQs

How can I book a MOT?

Simply message, email, call or book online to schedule your MOT in.

When is my MOT due?

You can check the MOT status of a vehicle at https://www.gov.uk/check-mot-status

How long does an MOT test take?

The test takes 45 minutes, however please allow up to an hour in case any minor repairs are needed. Please arrive at least 5 minutes before your appointment (you can bring your car in any time from opening onwards).

What documents do I need to bring?

If your vehicle is undergoing its first MOT then a V5C vehicle registration certificate (log book) is required, this document is also required if your vehicle has had a change of registration plate since its last MOT. In all other instances no documentation is required.

What happens if my car fails?

If your car fails, it must be repaired and retested. You cannot legally drive your car on the road until the repairs have been made and a certificate issued. Most repairs can be carried out onsite at the test centre on the same day.

Is there a charge for a retest?

A retest is free for the first 10 working days.

If you choose to have your car repaired elsewhere, there may be a partial retest fee.
